Kenya Power has announced a planned power outage affecting parts of five counties on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, as part of maintenance work aimed at improving electricity supply reliability.
In a statement shared on X on Monday, February 2, 2026, the utility company said the maintenance exercise will cause temporary electricity interruptions in several regions.
Uasin Gishu County
In Uasin Gishu, the outage will affect Sergoit, Chepkoilel Section, Kaplamai and Tugen Estate from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Customers in parts of Sergolit, Kaplamai, Chepkoilel Section, Tugen Estate and adjacent areas will be without power during the maintenance period.
Nandi County
Several areas in Nandi County will experience power interruptions at different times.
The Cheribisi area will be without electricity from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, affecting Cheribisi and adjacent customers.

In Aldai, power will be interrupted from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with Koyo Tea Factory, Ndurio Market and surrounding areas affected.
Belekenya will also experience a brief outage from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, affecting Belekenya and neighbouring customers.
Kisumu County
In Kisumu County, the outage will affect Farm Engineering and Riat Safaricom Booster areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Areas expected to be affected include Farm Engineering, Royal Switz Hotel, Riat Bukna, Bukna Bance Park, Kapok, Kiboswa Safaricom Booster and adjacent customers.
Vihiga County
Parts of Vihiga County, including Bunyore TTC and Kilingili, will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Affected areas include Igunga, Haluumboove, Vyalo Gold Mine, Ilungu, Bunyore TTC, Esirulo Market, Kilingili Market, Munjiti, parts of Musoli, Ikonjero, Mwihila Hospital, Misngo Hills, Safaricom Booster and surrounding customers.
Homa Bay County
In Homa Bay County, areas around Kandiege and Masogo will be without electricity from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Places affected include Nyaola, Kandiege, Ngula, Kodula Bala, Opujo, Kajimo, Okiki Amayo, Masogo, Adhiro, Ouru, Kanyamfwa, Kotonje, Alum Beach, Ajigo and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power said the planned maintenance is necessary to inspect, service and upgrade key components of the electricity network to minimise unplanned outages.
“Good evening. The following areas will be on planned maintenance tomorrow (03.02.2026),” the utility company said.
