The race for the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Presidency has taken a new twist after three Vice Presidential candidates endorsed Faith Odhiambo for the Presidency.

Anna Konuche, Mwaura Kabata and Okenyo George Omwansa threw their weight behind Mrs Odhiambo during the launch of her manifesto dubbed PSP Agenda.

The three expressed their confidence in Mrs Odhiambo who is the current LSK Vice President having previously served at the LSK Council as a Nairobi Representative.

“I am ready to deputize Faith; I am happy to be here to support Faith on the launch of her manifesto. I first met Faith when she served as a very able secretary of FIDA Kenya and we are proud of her for the far that she has come and we support her. I have read her manifesto, read her track record and I believe in what she says and know she will make a great President of the Law Society of Kenya,” said Ms Konuche.

“I have worked with Faith at the LSK Council and I know the material that she is made of,” said Omwansa in his opening remarks.

“The people call me OG and we have been saying that anytime you are tasked, you must deliver. That is the mantra that Faith also believes in and come February 29, 2024, allow me, kindly give me the privilege of deputizing Faith Mony by voting for me,” concluded Omwansa stating that he was ready to endorse Mwaura Kabata in 2026.

Kabata who serves with Mrs Odhiambo at the current LSK Council said that they are both alumni of Catholic University of Eastern Africa and would appreciate the chance to serve in the next council as President and Vice President respectively.

“Why do I make that connectivity; In 1 Corinthians 13:13, Paul writes, ‘So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love,’ I love you all and let us please have Faith and Kabata,” he said.

Mrs Odhiambo who has been teaching law at the University of Nairobi called upon advocates to shun divisive politics and instead embrace unity in the fight to uphold the rule of law.

“The Vision is a Stable Progressive Bar, and the mission is PSP: protect the rule of law; stability of the Society; Progress of the Bar, Practice and Welfare. We have the blueprint, all we need is a spirited leader to get us to it, and I am ready, able and willing to be that leader.” said Mrs Odhiambo

The LSK elections will take place on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in a hotly contested race that brings together five presidential candidates namely Faith Odhiambo, Njoki Mboce, Peter Wanyama, Daudi Kamende and Ng’etich Bernard.
