Division One side Luanda Villa FC head coach Tom Tera Thursday called on the club’s management to sort out the unpaid allowances owed to the playing unit.

Tera said a default to settle arrears to players was demotivating to them even as he urged well-wishers to bail out the cash-strapped Vihiga-based club.

Having climbed to the summit of the third-tier league on 20 points, Tera is afraid the gains will be washed away due to the cash crunch.

“Luanda Villa’s 4:1 win against Sunderland Keroche this Wednesday should send a strong statement to our fans and the club’s management.

“I am not happy when fans put a lot of pressure on players when they lose a match as it was in the case of Murang’a Seals yet they aren’t concerned about the welfare of the players who may be playing on an empty stomach!” He added.

The tactician revealed that he has had to endure scorn from fans after the club was bundled out of FKF Cup yet no one according to Tera seems to care about the players’ needs off the pitch.

In a rejoinder, Moses Abwenje Luanda Villa FC chairman acknowledged that players are yet to be paid allowances for the past four games which he attributed to financial constraints as he called on well-wishers to come in to help meet players’ needs.

“Luanda Villa is now on top and we would like to remain there so we will ensure the needs of the team are met,” Abwenje said.
