Madira Soccer Assassins FC, a team in the FKF Women Premier League, is determined to finish the league season strongly and avoid relegation.

Despite the postponement of their match against Wadadia FC for the second time due to the national team, Junior Starlets’, schedule, the club’s head coach, Francis Muhambe, emphasized that they are using the break to address their weaknesses ahead of their remaining three league matches.

Muhambe highlighted the challenges posed by players who are still with the Junior Starlets and participating in school games, but he remains focused on preparing the team for their upcoming fixtures.

“We are working normally without looking at the table standings, as our plans ahead of Wadadia and Ulinzi Starlets were interrupted by the national team’s schedule. Our girls who are still with the Junior Starlets have not been released, some of them are playing school games as well. So we’re instead playing build up matches and talking to the players to keep focus during this period because we still have three fixtures to play,” he said.

He stressed the importance of maintaining concentration during this period and mentioned that they are engaging in build-up matches to keep the players sharp.

In terms of their position in the league standings, Muhambe expressed confidence that they can avoid relegation if they secure at least four points from their remaining matches.

He mentioned plans to utilize Charity Mideo in school games to rediscover her scoring form while strengthening the squad through build-up assignments.

“Statistically, we only need four points and wish other results in the relegation battle favor us. Charity Mideo will be playing school games to rediscover her scoring form, while the rest of the squad will be utilized in build up assignments to strengthen for league duties,” added Muhambe.

Currently, Madira Assassins are in a precarious position near relegation, occupying the 10th position with 13 points from 16 matches. With careful planning and determination, Muhambe believes they can secure the necessary points to secure their place in the league for the next season.
