The leaderboard has shifted after Round 3 at the Magical Kenya Open with Spaniard Jorge Campilo topping at close of Day Three on 13 under (63) and a total score of 200.

“It was a great round. I played really solidly and was able to make a few long putts as well. Four birdies in a row to finish and I did not have a chance to make any bogeys so really it was comfortable for me out there,” Campilo added.

The 36-year-old World No.257 improved significantly after a difficult two rounds with 8 birdies to his name. He started off at front nine leveling par in the opening two holes before taking a birdie-one shot under in hole 3 and later hole 2.

His back nine performance was far better with four consecutive birdies on holes 15,16,17 and 18.

Unlike Round One and Two where he collectively dropped four shots, his overall game on Saturday, March 11, 2023, was near flawless with no bogey in sight despite missing out on the top 10.

Meanwhile Scotsman Robert McIntyre was back in the fold at position two with a 12-under finish (65) with a total tally of 201.

Despite falling short in holes 3 & 16, the 27-year-old World No.94 had an imperious run of six birdies and an eagle on hole 10. In Round One, the player had extreme difficulties dropping five shots but recovered well in the second round with no bogeys whatsoever.

Tied on third with a total of 202 points are Japanese player Kawanura Masahiro who finished on 11 under (68) alongside previous leader Jayden Shaper (69).

Spaniard Benn Tarrio closed the top five with a 10 under par (64) with competition for the top prize expected to be at fever pitch on the final day with six other players tied on 9 under par with a score tally of 204.
