Classic 105 presenter Maina Kageni has encouraged Kenyan youths to demonstrate their ability to engage in meaningful and serious discussions. His comments come ahead of a scheduled interaction with President William Ruto through the X platforms Space on Friday.
Kageni advised that the youth should pose challenging and significant questions, emphasizing the importance of receiving substantive answers.
“I know it has the potential to get messy, but you can prove to the world that you’re capable of a sober interaction. Ask any question, ask the hard, important ones because it’s absolutely necessary that you get your answers,” he said.
Kageni emphasized that it is crucial for the youth to articulate their demands clearly and comprehensively during their upcoming discussion with the President. He urged them to seek specific timelines for any agreements reached. The radio presenter highlighted the opportunity for this Friday’s engagement to be significant and impactful.
“Cover every area, don’t leave anything out. Make your demands known and make sure that you get measurable assurances with timeliness on delivery. Make tomorrow one to remember,” Kageni said.
He also asked young people to respect the office Ruto holds even if they may not like him as a person.
“Because one day, one of you will sit in it.”
Ruto will Friday host his inaugural X-Space Conversation with the youth of Kenya.
The Cabinet is scheduled to join the Head of State as he hosts the Space.
“All Kenyans are welcome to contribute to this dialogue as part of our collective effort to foster national renewal and create a better Kenya for all,” a despatch from the Cabinet Office, Executive Office of the President said.
In a statement shared by the State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, the President will engage the youths on the issues raised.
The X Space will take place from 2 pm to 5 pm.
