Mali Safi Chito hitmaker Marakwet Daughter shared a painful story behind her success She disclosed that she got married at the young age of 16 in an effort to escape her family’s poverty.

The singer bravely chose to leave her marriage at the age of 21 and go back to her family after facing several difficulties.

Millicent Jepkorir, popularly known as Marakwet Daughter, is a rising star in the Kenyan music scene. Marakwet Daughter narrates how she suffered in her early marriage.  She Nearly Flashes Her Underwear! Her hit song Mali Safi Chito has gone viral and earned her praise and admiration.

However, behind her success and fame lies a painful past. In an interview with VJ Mastermind, the singer opened up about her relationship life and the suffering she underwent in her early marriage.

Why did Marakwet Daughter dump hubby?

She revealed that she was married at a young age, 16, trying to escape poverty in her family. However, things worsened as she endured unbearable situations in this relationship.

After staying with him for five years, she eventually dumped the man and returned to her home. “I didn’t go to high school. I got married at 16 years old.

Then, things were so rough that it made me prefer the life I had at home to the one I was having in my house. Then I left him when I was 21. I went through a lot. I was so blessed that anything I touched would flourish, but family conflict erupted in my ex-husband’s family.

I went through many things. I was beaten and at some point I got depressed. I couldn’t sleep. I went to the hospital,” she said in the interview.
