Mama Ida urged the party officials to embrace dialogue and consultations in ironing out the teething issues that have seen the party officials trading barbs with each other.
“Baba ran ODM with dedication, with firm and fair hands, on principles of constant consultations and always referring to the people. It is my wish that we can preserve the party in his honour,” said Mama Ida.
The wife of the late ODM leader, who was addressing the press for the first time after burying her husband, told the warring factions within the party to reflect on what Raila would have done in such a time of political turbulence.
The ODM party in recent weeks has been on the spot following the irreconcilable differences pitting different factions within the ODM party.
Mama Ida was speaking on Wednesday while posthumously marking the birthday of the departed leader at her Karen home, where she reflected on Mr. Odinga journey during his sickness and send-off in Bondo.
The event was attended by several leaders, including the embattled ODM Edwin Sifuna, who reiterated the need for a dialogue to solve issues bedevilling the party.
