A man in God Kweru village, Suna West sub-county Migori county, has been arrested after he was accused of abducting and hacking his three-year-old son following a disagreement with his ex-wife over a marital dispute.
The suspect identified as Clinton Ouko, in his 30s, was arrested by the provincial administration in collaboration with the police officers who got information that the suspect had kept the son hostage.
Area Assistant Chief Mr.Samwel Oketch said he rushed to the scene together with the police officers after he got information that the suspect was planning to kill the boy and on reaching the scene, they found that the boy had already been injured and blood was oozing from his head.
Mr.Oketch said the suspect was still clutching onto a panga with the intention to cut the boy again, fortunately thwarting his plan and arrested him.
He said their preliminary investigation has established that the suspect went to Muhurubay in Nyatike Sub County to his ex-wife’s residence where she was staying after they parted ways, kidnapped the son, took him to God Kweru in Suna West Sub County before torturing him.
Mr.Otieno said the boy is receiving medical attention at God Kweru health centre and is in stable condition as he awaits scanning and other medical tests.
