In the Ulanda area of Awendo, Migori County, a middle-aged man met a tragic end on Wednesday evening as he was electrocuted to death. According to Awendo sub-county police commander Mathias Pombo, the victim had just dropped his daughter off at a nearby secondary school and was returning home when the incident occurred.

Pombo explained that an electricity pole along the power line, carrying live current, fell down, and unfortunately, the victim came into contact with the live wire, resulting in his immediate death. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, they were unsuccessful.

The deceased’s body has been transferred to the mortuary pending further police investigations. Pombo urged both the public and the deceased’s family to remain calm as investigations into the incident proceed.
