Police in Nairobi are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in his car along Thika Road. The deceased, identified as 42-year-old Vitalis Matinde Chacha, was found in the driver’s seat, suggesting he had been there for some time before being discovered.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of death, and the car, which had been parked in the Kastermill area of Kasarani, was locked from the inside. Upon breaking into the vehicle, the police found the deceased along with his wallet containing identification documents and other belongings. Investigations are ongoing, and the body has been moved to the mortuary for autopsy.

In a separate incident in Nairobi’s Githurai 44 area, tragedy struck as an eight-year-old girl drowned in a swollen river near the Waihenya Bridge. The girl had been playing with friends in the area when she accidentally fell into the river and was swept away by the strong currents. Her body was later recovered about 500 meters downstream and transported to the mortuary.

Additionally, authorities are investigating the death of a two-year-old boy whose decomposed body was found in the riverbed of a river in the Kasarani area. The body was discovered by a local clearing a trench, and it appeared to have been swept downstream by the flooded Gatharaini River from the Immaculate area. The circumstances surrounding the boy’s death, including when and where he drowned, remain unclear, and the body has been taken to the mortuary for further examination and identification.
