Grief has befallen Kapsita Kamondo village in Molo, Nakuru County after a lottery game turned tragic on Sunday.

A 22-year-old man was slashed on the neck on the spot while a 24-year-old youth is fighting for his life in Elburgon Hospital after he sustained serious injuries in the incident.

A fierce fight emerged after the victims and a suspect who fled the scene differed over the lottery game.

Speaking from Elburgon Hospital, Kamondo village elder Vincent Ngetich, alongside Geoffrey Bett and Robert Biwott, decried the increase in the gambling sport by youths who indulge in excessive drinks and bhang.

The elders asked the government to move all officers in the area and stop the lottery games.

Contacted for comment, Kapsita locational chief Alex Gichane confirmed the incident, saying he would provide a detailed report in due time.

The suspect has not been arrested following the incident.
