Abraham Odhiambo was seized by a team of police officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) unit at Huruma police station over alleged involvement in the murder of Manase Sindori. The deceased was killed between August 13 and 14, 2025, at Huruma estate in Eldoret under unclear circumstances.
Eldoret Chief Magistrate Peter Ndwiga directed that the suspect be held at Eldoret central police station cell for more days pending completion of investigations by the police.
State counsel Eunice Ronoh brought to the attention of the court that the suspect went into hiding alongside two other men who are still at large after they were implicated in the disappearance and murder of the slain casual worker.
The court was told that Odhiambo was seized by police detectives after resurfacing from his hideout at Huruma estate and locked up at Huruma police station, where he was held in custody.
Ronoh informed the court that the deceased’s body had not yet been recovered, adding that the suspect was in a better position to help locate where he was buried.
The matter will come up for mention on March 4, 2026, for further direction.
