Police in Siaya County are investigating the death of a 46-year-old man whose body was found hanging in his bedroom at Pap Yamo village, West Alego location in Alego/Usonga sub-county.

The body of the man who has been identified as Pascal Okoth Akelo was found by his relatives.

According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the incident was reported to Mwer Police Patrol Base by the Assistant Chief of Komenya sub-location Elizabeth Awino.

He stated that officers from the patrol base visited the scene and found that the deceased had hanged himself using a leso inside his bedroom.

The County police boss stated that preliminary investigations have established that last year, the deceased had attempted to commit suicide by jumping from a three-story building in Nairobi.
While confirming the afternoon incident, Mr. Kimaiyo stated that the scene was processed and documented before the body was removed to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary to await post-mortem.

He stated that the real motive behind the man’s decision to take away his life has not yet been established since he did not leave behind any suicide note.
