The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has apprehended a man who is suspected to have used forged academic certificates to acquire a government job.
In its investigations, EACC established that Zinje Jumaa Mwadama forged 4 certificates to acquire a job at the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) and has since earned Ksh.4.7 million in salaries.
“He is accused of forging a KCSE Certificate from KNEC, a Certificate in Agriculture and Transcripts from Pwani University (formerly Kilifi Institute of Agriculture), and Diploma Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture & Rural Development from Baraka Agricultural College, Molo,” EACC’s investigations showed.
Mwadama was presented before Milimani Chief Magistrate Felix Kombo where he pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of offences.
The offenses include forgery, uttering false documents, providing false information to a public entity, and fraudulent acquisition of public property being the salary earned.
EACC said that Mwadama was released on a bond of Ksh.3 million and pending mentioning of the case on June 8, 2023.
