A 61-year-old man was on Tuesday arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for impersonating an advocate of the High Court.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says that Simon Githu Mbugua wrote and forwarded a demand letter for an unsuspecting member of the public who had been defrauded Ksh.20,000 while pretending to be Winny A. Ochwal Advocates.

Mbugua was then arrested on Monday 19, 2024, at Muindi Mbingu Street in Nairobi CBD.

A search in his office at Kimathi House also led to the recovery of a stamp reading WINNY A. OCHWAL ADVOCATES believed to be the one he used in his mischief.

He has been released on Ksh.100,000 cash bail pending further mention on March 5.
