A 24-year-old man has succumbed to his injuries following a fight involving a couple in Rachuonyo North, Homa Bay County.
The deceased, identified as Dan Ouma, succumbed to serious injuries inflicted on him as he sought to stop a couple from fighting.
West Kanyaluo chief Elius Ombim said the incident happened at Seme Kaloo village. “The confrontation between the couple was reportedly as a result of domestic issues,”Ombim told Citizen Digital.
He added that the deceased was part of a group of villagers who went to stop the fight.
“It is alleged that a couple had disagreed in the area. A man was being beaten up by his wife and children, prompting locals to intervene,” he added.
The deceased was however hit in the head with a blunt object. He was rushed to Kadienge Hospital and was later transferred to Homa Bay County Referral hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The main suspect is being grilled at Kendu Bay Police station pending his arraignment.
The body of the deceased body was moved to Homa Bay Mortuary.
