Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has agreed to comply with Justice Lawrence Mugambi’s directive and is scheduled to appear in court today. Masengeli, through his lawyers Cecil Miller and Steve Ogolla, informed the court that he will be available between 12 noon and 2 pm.

The case was presented before Judge Chacha Mwita as Judge Mugambi is currently involved in a different case with a three-judge bench and unable to handle this matter at the moment. Masengeli’s legal team requested that their client be allowed to appear in court today due to the imminent start of a six-month jail sentence.

Judge Mwita has directed that the case file be forwarded to Judge Mugambi tomorrow for further directions, given Judge Mugambi’s current engagement with another bench matter.
