Napoli midfielder, Scott McTominay has urged manager, Antonio Conte to step up his reported pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo in the January transfer window.

According to SunSport, McTominay has encouraged Conte to bring the England youngster to Italy, believing he would thrive in Napoli’s dynamic setup this season.

McTominay has flourished under Conte’s leadership since leaving Man United to join Napoli in 2024.

The Scotland international played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title triumph last season and also won the league’s MVP award.

Mainoo, on the other hand, has failed to get regular playing game time under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.

The 20-year-old is behind the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in Amorim’s pecking order of midfielders at Old Trafford.

It’s yet to be seen if Mainoo will end up leaving Man United on loan in January.
