Masked men approached a vehicle and stopped near the gate of businessman Jimmy Wanjigi’s Muthaiga residence. According to Wanjigi, the masked individuals exited the pickup carrying a basin filled with about 10 liters of blood. They poured the blood at Wanjigi’s gate while the guards on duty peered through a hole to identify them. Witnessing the entire incident, the masked men quickly jumped back into the pickup and sped away.

Wanjigi’s family believes that the incident, which occurred on the night of Saturday, September 28, is part of a larger scheme orchestrated by state agents under the orders of political actors to intimidate him over political matters. The motive behind the incident has yet to be established, and police reported that no official complaint had been filed.

This incident follows a heavily armed police raid on Wanjigi’s Muthaiga home last month, where several items were seized. The police linked Wanjigi to a series of anti-government protests, although he was not present during the raid, which lasted several hours.

When he later presented himself to the police, he was detained in connection with those protests. Shortly after his release, Wanjigi made bold statements, vowing to confront President William Ruto, whom he accused of kidnapping his allies and several protesters.

Recently, Wanjigi expressed concerns on social media regarding what he described as unprecedented surveillance outside his Muthaiga residence. He shared images of unmarked vehicles allegedly stationed outside his home for over a week, raising fears for his safety and that of his family.

“Why are unmarked vehicles outside my residence in Muthaiga for the last one week? This is clearly harassment of me and my family; this surveillance is unprecedented! These vehicles are jamming all communication to my residence!” Wanjigi lamented. The photos he posted showed several SUVs, some appearing to have advanced surveillance or jamming devices mounted on their roofs, suggesting covert operations aimed at monitoring his activities.
