YouTuber Fredrick Marwa, popularly known as Iam_Marwa, has responded to a viral video showing his girlfriend being robbed in Upperhill, Nairobi.

Marwa’s girlfriend is a Mexican singer identified as Rocio Cabrera. The vlogger posted the video of the incident on his Instagram page.

He explained that the robbery took place around 9:30 am while they were walking together in Upper Hill, Nairobi.

In the footage, a boda-boda rider suddenly appeared, grabbed his girlfriend’s bag, and quickly sped away within seconds.

Marwa mentioned that the robbery happened near a police station and appealed to his followers to help identify the thief.

“This just happened to us! Kindly share it widely to help us. I hope someone helps us identify this thief. This was this morning around 9:30 a.m., Sunday, April 14.

We had just arrived in the city of Nairobi from our village, so we felt it was nice to walk around the city for sightseeing. Little did we know the person on this motorbike was following us to commit this crime.

We were shaken. It happened so fast, say 2 seconds. Rocio was carrying her national ID, GO Pro 10, mobile phone, iPhone 11 Pro, cash, iPods, wallet, and bank cards. The phone location shows it is in an area called Mathare,” he said.

“For the first time in my life, I bought flowers,” he captioned the pictures.

Cabrera commented on Marwa’s post, reminiscing about their wonderful times together.

She wrote: “You now have a piece of my heart, and I’m thankful for your presence and everything I learned from you during those days. Thank you for showing me how to handle exposure, lovers, and haters…”

“You have a kind heart, and I truly appreciate you. We know what’s real between us, and that’s all that matters. So much love for you, Marwa,” she expressed.

In 2022, comedian Njugush shared his ordeal of being ambushed by an armed gang of robbers along University Way on a Thursday night. They robbed him of his belongings.

In a series of Instagram posts, the comedian detailed the harrowing experience, stating that it happened around midnight as he was heading home from work.

He reported the incident to Nairobi’s Central Police Station.

Akothee’s sister Cebbie Nyasego was also robbed at gunpoint in Chiromo, Nairobi.

Journalist Shiksha Arora also went through the same with robbers around Globe Roundabout in Nairobi CBD in 2021

She explained how three thugs worked together and attempted to steal her belongings.

Following her experience, Shiksha warned that the thugs work in teams to steal in broad daylight.
