Police in Migori County are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire that destroyed the county assembly store on Wednesday evening.
The blaze started around 6 p.m., according to Suna East Sub-County Police Commander Ezekiel Kiche. Preliminary investigations indicate that a county assembly employee was burning waste at the collection point when the fire accidentally spread to the store.
Kiche stated that the makeshift store was engulfed in flames before the county fire department managed to extinguish the fire. He added that property of undetermined value was destroyed in the incident.
