A crackdown on illicit brew has been intensified in Rongo, Migori County.
Local administrators in Koderobara have ramped up efforts to fight illegal brewing, calling on residents to support the initiative.
Koderobara Assistant Chief Judith Auma Okeyo stressed that the operation targets not only brewers and sellers but also consumers.
She noted that illicit brew has been linked to rising gender-based violence and other criminal activities in the area.
Okeyo expressed concern that many educated youth continue to spend excessive time drinking, hindering their personal development.
She urged all stakeholders to collaborate and join forces to eradicate illicit brew in the region.
