Police in Suna East, Migori County, are searching for a 25-year-old man accused of murdering his 19-year-old wife in Kadika village. According to Suna East Sub-county Police Commander Reuben Kemboi, the victim, Akoth Onyango, was killed, and her body was found in a bush a few kilometers from their home after a domestic dispute.
Kemboi reported that the deceased had neck injuries, suggesting she was strangled by the prime suspect, Asman Ouma. Police are investigating to determine the events leading up to the crime.
The suspect’s brother, Elvis Omondi, recounted that on Tuesday morning, Ouma called him, confessing to the murder of his wife, with whom he had lived for about six months. Omondi added that Ouma informed the family about where he had dumped the body and mentioned his intention to commit suicide, promising to let them know where to find his body.
The couple had left home for a walk on Tuesday evening and never returned.
