A woman who is based in Migori County on May 14, 2023, returned from a burial in Kisii County to find her husband dead.
Ms Faith Kerubo had just arrived from her native home in Nyamache was shocked to see her husband Mr Johnes Ochengo’s body lying lifeless inside their bedroom.
Police have launched investigations into the death of the 29-year-old man.
Mr Cleti Kimaiyo, the Kuria West police boss, said the body of the deceased was retrieved from his house which they say is located at Mabera in Bugumbe West Location.
“He had physical injuries which included bruises on the hands and legs. We are pursuing a possible murder incident,” said Mr Kimaiyo.
The police boss said that detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were planning to record a statement from his wife over what had transpired.
Ms Kerubo said that she was forced to ask her son enter the house through the window and wait for her as she alerted the neighbors on what had transpired.
Police officers then went to the scene of crime, processed it before taking the body of the deceased to Akidiva Mindira Hospital Morgue.
Cases of people found dead inside their houses have been on the increase in the recent past.
A week ago, police launched investigations into a mysterious death of a man who was found dead in his house in Ng’ando area, Dagoretti South constituency.
The man, Aaron Moenga, was discovered lying dead in his bed days after he had gone missing.
His niece, Janet Moraa, who recovered his body noted that her uncle had disappeared on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
“We found his door locked from the inside and had to peep through the window. We tried calling him but he did not respond. We broke into the house and found him dead,” she stated.
