Elite were totally outplayed in first half with strikers Erick Kimanzi and Emanuel Lunalo failing to capitalize despite coming close, in what would have killed the match early before the break.

Migori Youth have Sunday evening continued their fine run in National Super League (NSL) this season after defeating Mombasa Elite 2-4 at Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa County.

The visitors Migori got their goals through Elly Owande , Tonny Brandly, Clinton Onyango and Lucky Musyoki while Mombasa Elite got their consolations through Emmanuel Lunalo and Omar Ateek.

It took only two minutes for Migori Youth to get the opener though Tonny Brandly who capitalised on a defence mix-up in Elite’s defence, firing a hard shot past goalkeeper Richard Ebenyo

Fourteen minutes into the game, Migori Youth doubled their lead through Clinton Onyango after a split pass from Elly Owande.

Two minutes later, Elite goalkeeper Richard Ebenyo was called to action to stop Clinton Okoth’s shot for a corner kick, and the hosts survived.

Set up by Okoth, Owande fired a 40-yard shot past Elite goalkeeper just three minutes to the break, giving Migori a 3-0 lead in the purely one-sided affair.

The home side were forced to make second half substitutions at the start, introducing Rama Said and Shendrack Stephen in the midfield, aiming to soak pressure from the fiery Migori troops.

In the 63rd minute, the home team found breakthrough from Lunalo’s goal, after connecting Erick Mwanzia’s cross into the net.

But Migori Youth answered pretty fast, netting their fourth goal through Musyoki from a well executed counter-attack.

At the stoppage, Ateek scored from the spot to give Mombasa Elite their second after Rama Said was fouled in 18 yard box, but was not enough to guarantee even a share of the spoils.
