Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is filled with pride as he unveils his daughter’s outstanding achievement.

Thicky Sandra Mbuvi, the daughter of a prominent Kenyan politician, has earned the opportunity to pursue a four-year course at Brighton International University in London.

The ex-governor is set to allocate approximately Sh 6 million annually towards his daughter’s tuition fees.

According to the University of Brighton’s official website, tuition fees for degree course vary depending on the chosen field of study, ranging from £14,770 (Sh 2,682,390.58) to £17,320 (Sh 3,144,704.52).

Furthermore, it’s important to consider various additional expenses associated with living and studying in Brighton, apart from tuition fees.

While announcing the good news, Mike Sonko took to his Instagram page to share the exciting news with his followers, expressing a mix of emotions as he prepares to bid farewell to his daughter.

Sandra recently graduated from St. Austins Academy in Nairobi, and her next chapter promises to be an exciting adventure in higher education abroad.

“With a heart full of mixed emotions tonight, I am very happy but sad at the same time seeing off my lovely daughter Sandra Mbuvi to London, where she’ll be joining Brighton International University for a four-year course after graduating from St. Austins Academy, Nairobi,” Sonko wrote.

In his message to his daughter, he highlighted his immense pride in her adventurous spirit and her determination to pursue higher education overseas.

“Dear daughter, I want you to know how proud I am of the adventurous spirit within you. Watching you spread your wings and embark on this exciting journey to study abroad fills me with happiness for all the opportunities and experiences that await you,” Sonko conveyed.

Furthermore, Mike Sonko revealed that his wife, Primrose, will accompany their daughter during the initial months of her transition to the new environment.

“Yet, at the same time, a part of me feels a profound sadness, realizing how much I’ll miss your presence, our daily conversations, and the warmth of your smile. The house will feel emptier without your laughter and that of your mum, who will also be away with you for four months as you adapt to the new environment and culture,” he added.

In conclusion, Mike Sonko wished his daughter a safe journey and abundant success and happiness in her new academic endeavour.
