Content creator Milly Chebby has opened up about the challenges of 2025, calling the death of Gospel singer Betty Bayo the toughest blow of the year.
In a YouTube video on Thursday, February 12, 2026, she said the news caught her completely off guard and left her reflecting on life and its uncertainties. According to Milly, the loss reminded her that every day is a blessing and nothing is guaranteed.
“A lot of people didn’t get to the 31st of 2025. The one that took me out and caught her unaware was Betty Bayo’s death,” Milly said.
She explained that the news left her thinking deeply about how fragile life can be.
“It reminded me that si guarantee kuamka kila asubuhi. Every day is a blessing,” she added.

Milly said she was personally affected because she was close to the people involved.
“Considering I was actually part of…asking how I got there, we are neighbours. And are still neighbours right now. Kina Sky, leave where we live, too,” she said.
Milly described the day of Betty’s passing as shocking and emotional.
The day Betty passed
She recalled how her friend Ndanu, also a neighbour, was deeply affected by the loss.
“The day Betty passed, my friend Ndanu, who we are also neighbours…You know, I couldn’t believe it. Ndanu and Betty were tight. However, I was a big, big fan. This song I used to listen to when I used to live in Pangani,” Milly said.
She tried calling Ndanu repeatedly but could not reach her.

“Ndanu called me and said, ‘Chebet, it is true, I am here sitting just next to her body.’ My body just got dumb,” she said.
Milly added that the moment left her thinking about the unpredictability of life and the importance of cherishing loved ones.
She also shared relief that Betty’s family and friends are coping.
“I am glad kina Sky are keeping up well. That one ilinipata, na ilinipata vibaya sana. But anyway, may you rest in eternal peace,” Milly said.
Her words remind everyone to value each day and the people around them, and to hold onto memories of those who have passed.
