Police officers in Likoni, Mombasa County have detained a man who allegedly defiled his 5-year-old son.

According to Ibrahim Dafalla, the Acting Commander-in-Chief of Likoni Constituency, 43-year-old Josephat Kilonzo took his son for a walk along Shelly Beach, where the crime occurred.

People who were strolling at the beach said they found Kilonzo naked, defiling his son. They immediately held him and presented him to police.

The minor is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Mombasa, as police conduct further information to present the accused in court.

The police officers urged parents be extra careful in protecting their children, saying cases of abuse have been reported during school holidays.
