Political activist Morara Kebaso has gone on the offensive against claims made by his estranged wife Mercy Makini, who had publicly accused him of assaulting her while she was pregnant.
In a lengthy post shared on X, Kebaso painted a vivid picture of himself as a devoted father, describing how he was present throughout every delivery, from early dilation all the way to birth.
He said he was the first to hold each of his children before the nurses did andxc that he personally cut their umbilical cords.
Kebaso defends his record as a father Far from the image of an absent or abusive partner, Kebaso described spending long nights soothing babies to sleep, washing clothes and changing nappies.
“I have washed clothes and changed nappies like a hero dad,” he wrote, presenting his involvement in the home as evidence that the allegations against him were unfounded.
He framed the accusations as politically motivated, insisting his opponents were manufacturing stories to damage his reputation ahead of elections.
“The propaganda being peddled by my political opponents is baseless and fabricated,” he said, urging whoever was behind the claims to stop dragging his family into political battles.
Warning to political opponents
Kebaso also issued a firm warning to those he believes are behind the allegations, saying their efforts would ultimately backfire.
“Those false statements going round purporting to come from my family will only help you lose the elections you have lost,” he wrote.
He closed his post with a pointed defence of his character, arguing that a man who showed such care for his children could not be capable of harming those under his protection.
“A man who loves his children like this will not hurt the people God has placed under his care. Find a new lie, this one has failed the test of sense and evidence,” he added.
