Public Service, Performance & Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria now wants Nationa Youths Service(NYS) training to be a requirement for government jobs.

Speaking during his NYS inaugural visit on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Kuria said this will help the government to trace back employees’ history and background.

Further, the CS emphasized that the retirement age should be 60 years. He claimed a section of civil servants have been pulling disability stunts to delay their retirement.

“Mtu akifikisha miaka sitini tafadhali enda nyumbani wacha kutafuta sababu zingine. Kuna wengine akifika 58 saa hiyo ndio anakumbuka ako na disability ya jicho moja ndio aongezewe muda,” he said.

Adding;

“Kabla mtu aandikwe kazi na serikali, lazima NYS. We want to make sure we can trace them back to avoid the disability excuse. I want to push this proposal and I’m going to push a Cabinet memo for the Cabinet to approve.”

Further, Moses Kuria assured that the National Youth Service would be the centre of gravity in this country and encouraged the youth to hope for a better future.
