Nairobi County’s Head of the Customer Care Department, Geoffrey Mosiria, has shared an update on a woman he recently rescuedafter finding her sleeping outside City Hall.
Sharing the update through his Facebook page on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Mosiria described how he came across the woman in the Central Business District.
He highlighted how she was physically exhausted, emotionally broken, and had long feared interaction with strangers due to past mistreatment.
“Having been chased away and mistreated many times before, she assumed I had come to drive her away once again,” Mosiria recalled.
With patience and reassurance, Mosiria asked what he could do to bring her relief. Her simple request for clean clothes and a meal of fish from a hotel was honoured immediately.
Mosiria personally took her to a salon for grooming, provided new clothes, and allowed her to regain a sense of dignity. The woman broke down in tears, overwhelmed by the care she had not experienced in a long time.
Path to safety
Following the rescue, Mosiria ensured she had a safe place to sleep and facilitated her admission into a rehabilitation centre, where she is now receiving professional care and support.
“She is no longer exposed to the harsh realities of the streets. She is safe, protected, and beginning a journey of healing and restoration,” he said.
Mosiria’s post also included a heartfelt appeal for anyone with information about her family to come forward, with the hope of reuniting her with loved ones.

He emphasised that behind every person living on the streets is a human soul with a history, pain, and untapped potential.
“Sometimes, restoring hope does not require grand gestures, only compassion, dignity, and the courage to care,” Mosiria wrote. He urged the public to choose kindness, restore humanity, and never ignore a life in need.
