Fenerbahçe manager José Mourinho has claimed he could coach Celtic or Rangers in the future.

According to Mourinho, he is a big fan of the “passion” in Scottish football.

Mourinho’s side will face Rangers in a Europa League last-16 first-leg clash on Thursday night.

The Portuguese manager has insisted he is happy at Fenerbahçe for now but has not ruled out a future move.

When asked about the possibility of managing Celtic or Rangers at a pre-match press conference, Mourinho responded: “Why not in the future? People say the Scottish league is a league of two teams, but it is a league of passion, and passion in football is everything for me.

“To play in empty stadiums or where there is no fire of passion does not make any sense to me. Celtic and Rangers are big clubs with big fanbases, big emotions, big responsibilities, and big expectations, so why not?”
