Gospel singer Moses Tarus Omondi alias Mr Seed has sparked a heated debate on social media after confessing that some men intentionally lead women on, using them as mere placeholders while waiting for their true love to come along.
The viral video has stirred strong opinions from both men and women, questioning the ethics of such behaviour and whether it is a display of intelligence or deceit.
During an interview, Mr Seed boldly claimed, “Let me tell you, we men, we have brains. I can be with you in a relationship for like 3 years, do you understand? Just three years of me looking at you, knowing very well you don’t have what I want.”
He further explained that men often sit on the fence in relationships, misrepresenting their intentions and hiding their uncertainty until they abruptly end the relationship without warning.
According to Mr Seed, men strategically use relationships as a means to buy time, all the while having made up their minds to marry someone else. He emphasized the importance of identifying specific qualities in a woman that make her “wife material” and admitted to scrutinizing female friends to determine who fits the criteria.
“So niko hapo and then one day you wake up and find the n** has already organised a wedding because this girl has already assumed she was a trophy. We have other female friends right? Among those friends, we check among them to see who is wife material. Maybe it’s even your best friend,” said the artiste.
The video triggered a wave of reactions from Kenyans, with many expressing their disapproval of men playing with a woman’s emotions during her crucial childbearing years. Critics argue that this kind of behaviour leaves women in emotional limbo, hindering their chances of finding genuine love and starting a family.
In response to the controversy, netizens emphasised the need for mutual respect and open communication in relationships.
Many urged both men and women to be honest about their feelings and intentions from the beginning, preventing unnecessary emotional turmoil and allowing individuals to make informed decisions about their futures.
