The National Police Service (NPS) announced a multi-agency operation targeting a homestead suspected of manufacturing contraband alcoholic products.
The operation was conducted in the Mumwet area of Kaplelach Location.
The operation further led to the recovery of a number of supplies used in the unlawful production of second-generation alcoholic drinks, including counterfeit excise stamps, bottle caps, branded packaging boxes, suspected ethanol, and thousands of fake stickers.
The officers also seized a vehicle believed to have been used to transport the illicit goods was also impounded.
The operators fled upon detecting the presence of law enforcement officers.
Investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.
“The National Police Service, in collaboration with partner agencies, remains committed to protecting the public from harmful and unregulated alcoholic products, which pose serious health and safety risks.
Such operations underscore ongoing efforts to dismantle networks that profit from endangering communities,” says the NPS.
