Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday held talks with Embu leaders on matters to do with infrastructure in the county at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nairobi.

The CS said the road projects will improve services like transport, tourism, trade and investment at the county, constituency and ward levels.

Murkomen added that the projects are in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda implemented by the President William Ruto-led administration.

“Involvement of County leaders in the advancement of our infrastructure agenda is critical.  We are working towards actualising high impact road projects that will improve transportation, tourism, trade and investment,” Murkomen tweeted.

Some of the issues raised during the meeting included further opening up of the transport sector to enhance smooth movement of goods and services.

Roads under construction that fall under Kenya Rural Roads Authority(KeRRA), Kenya Urban Roads Authority(KURA), and Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) was also addressed.

Others are County Woman Representative Pamela Njeru, MPs Geoffrey Kiringa (Mbeere North), Bernard Muriuki (Mbeere South), Karemba Muchangi (Runyenjes), and Gitonga Mukunji (Manyatta).

Appearing before the Senate in May, Murkomen assured Kenyans that all the incomplete road projects will be completed, calling for patience even as the government prioritizes on improvement of infrastructure.

“We promised as a government both in our manifesto and also our utterances that we are going to make sure all pending roads are completed.”
