Content creator Murugi Munyi has explained why she does not share photos or videos of her teenage son on her social media pages.

On Monday, April 6, 2026, she addressed the issue after receiving repeated questions about his absence, especially during family outings. She said the decision is based on respect for his wishes as he grows older.

A fan asked her why she did not post her son during a recent beach outing. The question came as many people noticed she shared other moments but left him out. Murugi used the moment to give a clear and direct response about the situation.

“Hey Murugi, why didn’t you post Ethan at the beach?” the fan asked.

She explained that her son is now at an age where he is more aware of his surroundings and personal space. She said he prefers to stay private and does not always want to appear online. She added that she chooses to support his decision instead of forcing him into the public eye.

“I’ve said this so many times, but allow me to reiterate cause I get so many questions about not posting Ethan!” she said.

Murugi said her son is almost 16 and has developed his own preferences about being online. She explained that he is comfortable making his own choices about what he wants to share. She added that this stage of life comes with a need for independence.

She further explained that her son does not like being posted unless it is on his own terms. She said she listens to him and avoids sharing content that may make him uncomfortable. She added that this approach helps build trust between them.

“He’s a teen, almost 16. He’s very socially aware now, and he just likes to do his own thing; he doesn’t like to be posted except on his own terms,” she explained.

Murugi said she understands that people may be curious, but she chooses to keep some parts of her family life private. She explained that just because something is not posted does not mean it is not happening. She added that her son is still present in family activities.

“I like to respect that. So if you see me not posting him just to know that he’s there somewhere,” she said.
