Celebrated preacher Muthee Kiengei gave his congregation a memorable moment when he brought his mother-in-law into the spotlight during a recent Sunday service at Jesus Christ Compassionate Ministries.

The charismatic preacher had invited his wife, Reverend Joy Benson, to the pulpit when he noticed her mother and other family members seated in the pews.

How did Bishop Kiengei introduce his mother-in-law?

Without missing a beat, he switched to Kikuyu and introduced them to the entire church with unmistakable pride.

The preacher struggled to contain his emotions as he addressed his wife’s mother directly, drawing cheers from the congregation.

“You are the one who gave birth to this woman for me, and I am very happy about that, Mum. When I finally make it, I will come to you so that we can enjoy it together. God gave me a mum who looks like my late biological mother. That is a good thing,” he said.

He also pointed out the striking resemblance between Reverend Joy and her mother, quipping,

“You can see that they look alike. Truly Ugali comes from the flour itself,” before exchanging warm hugs with the family.

Kiengei revealed that his mother-in-law is ordinarily based in North Carolina in the United States, which means visits require transatlantic travel.

He laughed while recounting that whenever he feels like seeing his in-laws, he has to pack a bag and fly abroad.

During this particular trip, the family had also treated him and his household to a short vacation in Mombasa.

When she was handed the microphone, the mother-in-law conveyed greetings from her husband back in the US before offering a donation of flour to the church, a gesture that drew warm applause from the faithful.

The video clip spread quickly online, with many Kenyans commenting under the post.
