Mwamba Rugby Football Club have unveiled their new jersey ahead of the new season in the National 7s Circuit.
The Nairobi-based club has revealed their new outfits, which have been designed and manufactured by their partner Tessen..
“In the heart of Nairobi, a rugby club with a rich heritage and a fervent passion for the sport proudly stands. Mwamba Rugby Football Club, affectionately known as Kulabu, has been a pillar of Kenyan rugby since its establishment in 1977.
Resilience and inclusivity
“Born out of a desire to promote the game among indigenous Kenyans during a time when it was predominantly dominated by others, Mwamba Rugby have become a symbol of resilience and inclusivity. Today, they unveil their new 7’s kit, blending the essence of tradition with cutting-edge,” Mwamba said in a statement that accompanies their new colours.
The club also revealed what inspired their new design and colours which they say symbolise their storied history.
“As Mwamba launch their new 7’s kit, they pay homage to their heritage while embracing the possibilities of the future. This collaboration symbolizes the fusion of Mwamba Rugby’s storied legacy with Tessen Sports’ commitment to excellence, the Samurai Iconix Match Kit embodies the spirit of both tradition and innovation.
“The new kit, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, sets the highest standards in rugby apparel. It seamlessly blends performance-enhancing features with a touch of style, capturing the essence of the club’s identity.”
Mwamba believes the new design will enhance their performance in the season, as they hope to at least claim a trophy in the upcoming campaign.
“The Performex fabric used to manufacture the kit is so technically advanced that this fully functional fabric not only makes the players feel great, but its optimal airflow also keeps the body cool to enhance overall performance.
“As Mwamba Rugby dons their new 7’s kit, they embark on a fresh chapter in their storied history. This union between Mwamba Rugby and Tessen Sports represents more than just a partnership; it signifies a celebration of tradition, an embrace of innovation, and a testament to the enduring spirit of Kenyan rugby. With the revolutionary Performex fabric at its core,” Mwamba’s statement concluded.
