The Nairobi Expressway’s operator, Moja Expressway Company, has released a statement regarding the temporary suspension of services on a section of the road.

The suspension of operations follows the anti-government demonstrations that took place on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

In order to ensure everyone’s safety, the company emphasized that all drivers taking the Westlands-Mlolongo route should exit at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Additionally, motorists heading from Mlolongo to Westlands were advised to safely join the Nairobi Expressway from the JKIA Toll Station.

“We ask for your patience as we restore the road to its original state and heighten security before the resumption of operations in the three affected Toll stations,” the statement read.

Moja Expressway Company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and assured the public that efforts were being made to address the situation promptly.

According to the media statement, the reopening of the affected toll stations at Mlolongo, Syokimau, and SGR will be communicated to the public in due course.
