The Nandi Orgoiyot Golf Tournament, set to take place on Friday, November 22, at the Kenya Railway Golf Club, promises to be a unique celebration of history, culture, and sport.
The event aims to honour the legacy of Koitalel Samoei, a revered leader of the Nandi community while offering participants a chance to enjoy a round of golf and support a meaningful cause.
Funds raised during the tournament will support film projects, including the production of the Nandi Orgoiyot Drama Series, which seeks to preserve and highlight the history and culture of the Nandi people.
“This tournament marks the inauguration of the Orgoiyot drama series,” said Maureen Koech, director of Real Cause Film Production Company, which will oversee the series’ production.
“We encourage golfers to come together and make this event a success. It’s an opportunity to honor Koitalel’s leadership and preserve our cultural heritage,” he added.
The tournament has also attracted key partnerships. Viutravel, a travel agency, has joined as a sponsor, providing players with opportunities to win trips to various destinations across the country.
“We’re proud to partner in the Orgoiyot Golf Tournament,” said Alfred Msachi, Product Manager at Viutravel.
“This collaboration allows us to contribute to a cultural cause while giving participants a chance to explore different parts of Kenya.”
The event offers a platform for golfers, filmmakers, and culture enthusiasts to come together in celebration of Koitalel Samoei’s enduring legacy.
Participants will not only enjoy the sport but also contribute to the preservation of history and culture through the planned drama series.
