Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has declared he will defend his country’s badge until his death.

Ronaldo spoke at his pre-match press conference ahead of Portugal’s Nations League quarter-final second leg tie with Denmark on Sunday night.

Recall that Portugal lost 1-0 in the first leg at Parken on Thursday.

Speaking ahead of the return leg at Estádio José Alvalade, Ronaldo said he only wants Portugal to win, irrespective who will score for the team.

“It’s not about me scoring… I only want Portugal to win. If we win and I don’t play, I’ll sign it down,” Ronaldo said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“I only focus on defending my country’s badge until I die, as always.

“I’d be happy if we win tomorrow and another teammate scores!”.

Ronaldo has scored a world record 135 goals since making his Portugal debut in 2003.
