President William Ruto’s firstborn son, Nick Ruto, made a rare public appearance at the wedding of Tracy Keter in Kericho County, turning heads with his well-groomed beard and trademark sense of style.
The lavish ceremony, held on Friday, 30 October at the Chepsir family home, saw Tracy, the daughter of former Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter and Winnie Keter, exchange vows with Robin Bett, son of Benjamin and Ruth Mitei. Photos from the event were shared on Facebook by user Kiptum Cheploen.
Nick Ruto’s style at the Kericho wedding
Nick was hard to miss at the celebration. In one photo, he is seen seated to the far left of the frame, laughing freely with guests around him.
He paired a navy blue blazer with a light blue patterned shirt, cream chinos, and his beloved white fedora hat with a grey band.
A gold-tipped walking cane and a silver wristwatch completed the look.He was also spotted on stage holding a microphone, addressing guests beneath warm fairy lights and chandelier décor.
His full, well-groomed beard has become increasingly associated with his public image. Kenyans first took note of the transformation during his sister Charlene Ruto’s Koito ceremony in Kilgoris on 8 August, and his beard has since drawn comment at Nicole Lang’at’s wedding and Allan Chesang’s wedding as well.
A star-studded celebration in Kericho
The Keter family wedding drew a sizeable political crowd. Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika alongside her husband Sam Mburu, Belgut MP Nelson Koech, and ODM’s Opiyo Wandayi were among those in attendance. Charlene also attended with her husband Isaya Yunge, dressed in a light-lavender floral embroidered dress.
Entertainment was provided by celebrated Kenyan artist Nyashinski, who performed dressed in a brown suit and was photographed dancing alongside the newlyweds.
The groom, Robin Bett, cut a sharp figure in a black tuxedo with a bow tie, while bride Tracy was radiant in a white gown.
Former CS Charles Keter later confirmed the occasion on social media, writing:
“It was truly a splendid and colorful occasion as my daughter, Tracy Keter, exchanged marriage vows with her fiancé, Robin Bett… be filled with everlasting love, happiness, unity, good health, and abundant prosperity.”
Nick Ruto, who wed his wife Evelyn Chemutai in a private Koito ceremony in January 2022 at Windy Ridge in Karen, is known for keeping a low profile.
His infrequent public outings mean that each appearance generates fresh excitement among Kenyans online, particularly now that his grown beard and polished dress sense have become something of a talking point.
