A woman from Delta State, Nigeria, was left shaken after recognising her missing twin brother in a TikTok video showing him living on the streets of Europe, five years after all contact with him was lost.
The video was posted by Prophet Prince, a Nigerian man based in Europe, who had filmed Paul during what appeared to be a routine encounter with a homeless man.
In the clip, Paul introduced himself by name, disclosed he was 30 years old and admitted he had been in Europe for a considerable period.
At one point, he asked Prince for money in exchange for agreeing to the interview, saying, “If you have something for me that would be nice, you can give me the money then I will use it much later.” Prince declined to hand over cash directly, concerned Paul might spend it on drugs, and instead offered to pay for a meal at a nearby hotel.
Twin Sister Pauline’s Desperate Plea
As the video spread across TikTok, a woman named Pauline left a comment that stopped many viewers in their tracks. She wrote that the man in the video was her twin brother, and that their family had spent years trying to locate him.
“This is my twin brother. We have been looking for him for over 5 years ooo he is actually from Delta, Edo. Our dad is from Delta State while our mom is from Edo State. Our birthday is 25th September… the last time I hear from him was when he was schooling over there… he entered Italy through Libya. Please sir, I sent you a message on your Dm we need your help,” she wrote.
Pauline explained that Paul had been studying abroad when communication between them broke down entirely. Seeing him appear dishevelled and homeless in the footage reportedly devastated her.
After reading Pauline’s comment, Prince tracked Paul down to the spot where he had been sleeping rough and arranged a video call between the siblings.
The reunion was visibly overwhelming for Paul, who could barely contain his excitement. He peppered his sister with rapid-fire questions:
“This is my twin sister, do you know me, I am still alive, are you pregnant? How is school? Are you married? Wonderful, how did you connect with this young man and found me.”
He also asked whether any family members had passed away during the years they were apart. Pauline urged him to return home, telling him how deeply he had been missed.
The family is now working to establish the full circumstances of Paul’s situation and to find a way to bring him back to Nigeria.
