Award-winning singer Nikita Kering and Kishash hit singer Lil Maina continue to spark dating rumors with their unending public display of affection (PDA) moments.
The two singers have been enjoying each other’s company for two years now and are never shy to broadcast it on social media platforms.
Their fast PDA moment was during Omah Ley’s concert in 2021 when Nikita while performing brought Lil Maina onto to stage to join the performance.
Nikita repeated the gesture during the recently hosted Blankets & Wine last month once again sparking speculations that the two could be a couple.
However, in an interview with Nairobi News, Nikita firmly denied being in a relationship with Lil Maina, clarifying that her current focus is solely on her music career.
“Right now, I am single and working on my music. I still have things to achieve before I can start dating,” she stated.
In a past interview, Lil Maina described his relationship with Nikita as platonic.
The two are currently collaborating on a new track, to be released later this year.
“We have been working on some music with Lil Maina, and I’m hoping that it’ll be one of the first tracks to drop from my EP. We’ve wanted to work together for a while, but the timing was never quite right. Now, we’ve finally found a song that fits us both. I don’t want to set a date just yet, but I think it’s going to be out pretty soon,” she added.
The 22-year-old also spoke of the challenges of being famous while young, revealing that it’s easier for one to get lost in the moment if not careful.
“It’s important to remind yourself why you started in the first place. It’s easy to get caught up in the chase for money, attention, or clout, but you have to stay grounded and patient. Not everyone wins at the same time, and that’s okay. If everyone won at the same time, winning wouldn’t feel as special. Keep practicing your art and getting better every day,” she cautions.
On dealing with social media drama, Nikita said;
“I just mind my own business. I’m in this strictly for the music, not the drama, so I don’t even have to remind myself to stay away from it. I’m simply not interested. My focus is on my music and my art, and that’s what I care about sharing with the world.”
