Today, Purity Wambui, the beloved wife of KBC actor Alphonse Makokha – real name Matayo Msagani Keya – will be laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery.

Purity’s death follows a painful 18-year battle with cancer.

Speaking about his wife, the Vihoja Mahakamani actor Makokha revealed the depth of her battle with the disease.

In a eulogy shared with Nairobi News, the family recounted how Purity started feeling unwell in September 2023, experiencing back pain and headaches.

“A visit to the doctor revealed that she had stage 4 breast cancer. Despite her health challenges, she remained strong and hopeful, spending as much time as possible with her loved ones. She was admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital on 29 May and sadly passed away on 1 June,” the eulogy read.

Purity married Makhokha in 1993 and their union was one of love, respect and mutual support.

Together they raised four beautiful daughters: Maline, Sharlet, Shanice and Malia Msagani.
