The stage is all set for the Premier League final day clash between Nottingham Forest and Chelsea on Sunday evening.

Nottingham Forest welcomes the Blues at City Ground as both teams battle for a top-five finish on the last day of the Premier League match-day 38 fixtures.

The last time both teams met was last year in the reverse fixture.

The encounter ended in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge after full-time.

Currently, Chelsea sit in the 5th position on the Premier League table with 66 points from 37 games.

A win for the Premier League west London club today would almost certainly guarantee them a top-five finish.

But if Enzo Maresca’s side draw with Nottingham Forest, they would either need Aston Villa to lose their match against Manchester United or Newcastle United to not win their match.l against Everton.

However, should Chelsea suffer defeat, it would ultimately deny them a top-five finish and a Champions League qualification unless Newcastle lose by three more goals than Maresca’s men.

Chelsea will be without Nicolas Jackson (suspended), Mykhaylo Mudryk (suspended), Wesley Fofana (thigh injury) and Omari Kellyman (thigh injury) against Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, currently sit in the 7th position on the Premier League table with 65 points from 37 games.

Forest have to beat Chelsea to have any real chance of Champions League qualification for next season.

Nuno Santo’s side would also still require at least one of Newcastle or Aston Villa to lose their match against Everton and Man United, respectively.

Forest will be without Taiwo Awoniyi (abdominal injury) and Eric da Silva Moreira (ankle injury) against the visitors.

DAILY POST reports that kick-off time for the final day Premier League match is 4 p.m, Nigerian time.
