National Super League (NSL) side Luanda Villa head tactician Tom Tera has rued injuries for their dispiriting barren draw against Kisumu All Stars on Saturday at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu.

Tera feels the outcome of the tie would have been different if his marksmen, Moses Masinde and Brian Bett, were fully fit.

“Although Moses Masinde and Brian Bett played, they had minor injuries as a result of the knocks on their muscles,” he said.

“Victor Barack is nursing a wound hence he did not travel while Timothy Luamasai is currently on a knee injury treatment. If Lumasai played I would have finished the game during the first half,” Tera regretted.

Tera admitted that, despite losing four clear chances, Kisumu All Stars were the better side throughout the match.

“Unfortunately, we did not have a water break. During the second half, the look on the faces of my players revealed that they had been drained too much to an extent we almost conceded goals thanks to our goalie Johnston Alusula who made great saves, denying hosts bragging rights,’ he said.

He, however, lauded Villa fans who escorted the team to Kisumu to cheer them up, adding that his strategy for the game worked during first half only, only to be undone by a lethargic striking force in the second half.

Luanda Villa are ranked eighth on the log with 29 points after playing twenty matches.
