The National Transport and Service Authority (NTSA) has sought to notify Kenyans of a planned system data migration that has affected services on its TIMS portal.
The authority, in a statement released on Wednesday, revealed that the said system upgrade had interfered with such services as driver-testing and licensing.
The State agency added that it is presently working to resolve the matter, however noting that all other services can still be accessed through its online services menu.
“This is to notify the public that a scheduled system data migration from our old servers has inadvertently affected access to Driver Testing and Licensing Services on tims.ntsa.go.ke,” stated NTSA.
“Our technical team is working to resolve the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
It added: “We assure the public that all other services relating to motor vehicle registration, transfer of ownership, motor vehicle inspection, application and renewal of licenses to enable operation of driving schools, public service vehicles among others are operational and accessible through the online services menu on www.ntsa.go.ke.”
Last year, NTSA re-launched its Self-Service Mobile Application to include boda boda and driving schools in a move made to streamline services.
The development saw extended services such as motorcycle owners and verification of driving school licences by instructors and owners.
