The newly-posted Nyanza Regional Police Commander (RPC) Noah Mwivanda has been recalled barely a week after he reported to the office in Kisumu.

Mr. Manasse Musyoka has been posted as the new Nyanza police commander and reported to office on Wednesday morning.

According to a source within the police ranks, a dispatch containing the changes was communicated on Tuesday and Mwivanda is now expected to hand over the office with immediate effect.

Mwivanda was posted to the region last week on Tuesday, in the wake of ongoing Azimio protests, taking over from Karanja Muiruri who was also recalled to Vigilance House.

Musyoka had in the recent past worked as the RPC in charge of Central and Coast regions and had also earlier been the Migori county police commander.

Karanja who has since reported to police headquarters in Nairobi is now the Deputy Director in charge of logistics.
